Welcoming international talent: building the collaboration.

An orchestra's harmony is never played alone.

A two-way commitment

Recruiting international talent isn't enough.

It is a two-way commitment that everyone needs to make, to ensure everyone is playing from the same score.

Recruiting international talent isn't enough: the success of their onboarding and integration also depends on the team welcoming them.

Misunderstandings rarely come from one side only. They arise from gaps between what each person expects, understands and interprets: a remark that seems too blunt, a silence misread, a “yes” that doesn't mean yes, a meeting that doesn't go as planned.

These small wrong notes, if nobody names them, end up weighing on collaboration, motivation and sometimes on the new colleague's decision to stay.

My approach

Everyone goes part of the way.

ACCORD is not training about “the other person's culture”. It is a practical immersion that invites the team to become aware of its own codes, often invisible because they feel natural, in order to better understand those of the colleague who is arriving.

What the workshop makes possible

  • Becoming aware of your own automatic habits: ways of communicating, deciding, giving feedback, managing time and hierarchy.
  • Decoding the most common misunderstandings and understanding what lies behind them.
  • Adjusting your communication to be understood and to understand better, including when French is not your colleague's first language.
  • Co-creating inclusive working practices: welcome rituals, communication rules, shared reference points.

How it works

It's not about asking the talent to adapt alone, nor about the team changing everything. We start from everyone's experience to understand what is at play in the encounter, then build common ground together. The work draws on real situations and the team's collective intelligence.

  • Role-plays inspired by your day-to-day reality
  • Case studies and practical intercultural analysis tools
  • Time for discussion to put words to what isn't working
  • A shared action plan for the team to take away
