CONCERTO · international teams
Working better with your teams abroad.
Making every voice part of the whole.
The reality
Sharing the same tools isn't enough to understand each other.
Working with colleagues based abroad is now part of everyday life. But sharing the same tools and goals isn't enough to understand each other.
From one site to another, the ways people communicate, decide, say no or flag a problem differ. An email that comes across as curt, a deadline taken as a rough guide, a silence on a video call, an agreement that wasn't one: at a distance, these gaps are amplified and harder to repair.
Left unaddressed, they turn into stereotypes (“over there, they don't work like us”), then into tensions, even conflicts. Projects slow down and trust erodes.
My approach
Each voice keeps its accent, but they all talk to each other.
In a concerto, each voice keeps its accent, but they all talk to each other. The music is born from that exchange: we listen, we respond, we move forward together at the same tempo.
CONCERTO is for everyone involved: teams in Belgium and those on other sites. Rather than asking one side to adapt to the other, the workshop helps everyone see how their own culture shapes how they perceive others, discover the codes of the people they work with, and define better ways of working together.
What the workshop makes possible
- Understanding how culture influences the way we perceive, interpret and react.
- Identifying each site's communication styles: direct or indirect, explicit or implicit, attitudes to time, hierarchy and consensus.
- Moving beyond stereotypes and defusing tensions before they become conflicts.
- Decoding recurring misunderstandings in remote exchanges: emails, video calls, messaging.
- Adjusting your communication to be understood, including when working in a language that isn't your own.
- Building shared practices: communication conventions, ways of validating a decision, giving feedback and raising a problem.
How it works
- Role-plays drawn from your real exchanges
- Case studies and practical intercultural analysis tools
- Dialogue between sites to put words to what isn't working
- A co-created collaboration charter that all teams take ownership of
